life has been kind of crazy!

Well things are kind of crazy around. We are trying to get in the grove of going to Des Moines, finding time for Jacob and just doing our normal things! We have trying to go to see Joey at least every other night so we can still spend time with Jacob. Jacob can't go into see him so if we take him one of us has to stay in the waiting room and play with him. Joey has improved much since last week. He is off the ventilator, his hurt murmur closed, the infection is gone, and he is now getting fed milk and weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces. I was finally able to hold him last Sunday! He is such a doll!!!!

Joey

Here are some pictures of our newest member of the family! Jacob and I took off for Des Moines one Friday to go to the Dr. The ob Dr. went great and everything was fine. Then we went to go get blood pressure refills and my bp was 151/127. So they sent Jacob and I to Mercy hospital. Well when we arrived they admitted me and said oh you will only be here a little bit. Well they then decided I needed to stay over night. So the next morning they sent a specialist in and he said I had preclampsia until proven otherwise. So they informed I was had to be on Hospital bedrest until delivery. The due date was suppose to be Feb. 25th! Well I started having a few contractions that day. They did an ultrasound and the baby was getting stressed. So they wanted to get my BP down even farther. Well they were able to get it down for awhile but then it started going back up. So the specialist said that we had to have the baby. They started inducing me on Sunday am. They took me off foods and liquids as of Friday when I got there and said no more til baby came. Well finally on Monday morning they started me on a stronger med. By 12:20 I was having strong contractions. So at 1:@0 the Dr. came and they were trying to decide whether to do a C-section or let me have it naturally. Thankfully my Dr. figured it would go very fast as soon as he broke the water. So off we went to the operating room. We arrived in there at 1:30 and then they broke my water and Joey arrive at 1:41pm. He weighed 2 pounds 7 ounces and was 15 inches long. He was crying and breathing good when he arrived.

Joey did very well for the first few days. On Day 3 he had some set backs and was put on a ventilator. He is on the high output ventilator but seems to be doing much better. We have been driving back and forth to see him. We can't wait until we can actually hold our new little man! Jacob is looking forward to getting to meet him but that won't be until he comes home or we can hold him up to the window for him to see him.

Old Memories

As Christmas gets closer we have been looking through all of Jacob's old baby albums! It was so fun to see how tiny he was. How much he has changed since then! It was fun to remember how on his first Christmas we had to have our own celebration because we couldn't go anywhere. It will be even more fun next year when we have another little one running around. We have made it past when Jacob was born so we are hoping make it to 2010!!! Happy Holidays!

Santa

Why we were at the Dr. the other day we decided to take Jacob to see Santa! Just in case we don't get back!! He told Santa he wants a race car that he can drive fro Christmas. We already think he has enough riding toys!!! So Jacob and I went to the toy store and tried to talk him into other toys instead!! HE also rode on Santa's train. We decorated our tree tonight and I have never seen Jacob so excited. He was singing Christmas songs the whole time. Of course he still has tons of energy and Jeremy and I finally gave up and sat down and just watched him finish decorating the tree!!! Jeremy and I then were talking about how next year we will have to hide presents and put stuff up high again so the new baby can't get it!

Papa Joe

Jeremy's dad passed away on Sunday September 20. It was a very big shock to all of us. Jacob loved papa Joe more than anything. He loved helping him on the 20, going to Dari Sweet to get cheeseballs or just playing hide n seek with him. Papa Joe did so many things for us that we didn't realize he did. He gave us a beautiful sign at the end of our driveway, always was bringing Jacob something. Joe spent Labor Day with us this year. He watched Jacob in the parade, the bike race and pulling the lawn mower. Joe visited with many of his old friends. There was not a person in Diagonal that didn't like Joe. He was always asking about the new baby and when we could find out what it was. Everytime he called Jeremy he always asked how Jacob and I were. Jeremy is going to miss his dad more than anything. Jeremy just wishes he could have done something to help him. It is going to be a hard adjustment for all!

wild weekend

Well I have only been back to work with kids for a week. I have already managed to get Brochitis. They thought it was worse than that so they did Chest x-rays and blood work on Friday. Then they decided that I couldn't have any medicine. So it is almost Tuesday and I still feel like crap. Not to mention Jacob has a runny nose and Jeremy is complaining he has a sore throat!

Jeremy has been working on getting his new tires on his tractor. It has been a project. He had to pain the rims, and weights, and many other things. So we had a tractor with no tires park on jacks on our cement by the garage for a week. Totally unsafe and very redneck looking!! Thankfully he got the tires put on today and the tractor out of the driveway.

On Saturday night Jeremy and I went to an Aaron Tippin concert at the Casino. Thanks to Aunt Shirley for the free tickets! It ended up costing us $80. A state trooper pulled us over and gave us a ticket because our windows were to dark in our car. This is the first ticket I have ever had. We were just very thankful that Jacob was not with us because who knows what kind of story he would have told about it.

Jeremy's Pet Bull

This was our pet bull Baron. He was 11 years old. We decided it was time to sell him. It was very sad day. We could walk out in the pasture and pet Baron and he always turned his head when we said his name. He was very tame since I showed him when I was younger. The only thing you had to be careful about was he loved his feed! So when you went to feed him you better dump it fast otherwise taking the bucket from you!!!
